How Would You Define Your Personality?

How Would You Define Your Personality?

That was the question Dr. Murray Mutchnick posed to the class on our first day of Psychology of Personality. No lame syllabus stuff, no course schedules, no introductions...

As a psychology major I have taken plenty of cool and very mind blowing classes, but I believe PSY 440 is my most favorite class yet. I have always wanted to know why we do things we do and why we tend to respond to stimuli differently. This is the class that answers all of those questions. Each day, since day one, we've learned something new and excited. Dr. Mutchnick makes the class fun and engaging! He is a practicing clinical psychologist so he always has new and exciting stories to share with us. I think the most rewarding part of this class is that everything I've learned thus far in the field of Psychology is all coming together in order to explain Personality. Most of the time it feels like we are reviewing rather than learning new material. We do some type of excited assessment almost every week that helps us to learn a little more about ourselves and each other as classmates. We get the opportunity to share things with Dr. Mutchnick and the class and receive feedback immediately, that is if you feel comfortable. I have learned so much in these first two months and I am ecstatic to find out what more there is to learn. I love this class because it is a direct fulfillment of what I expected to gain while studying the social science of Psychology!
